Lowell Arps, Director
Policy Board - Harrison County
Prior to his work with Southwest 8 Senior Services, Lowell spent 33 years working in the field of education. He received his B.S. from Iowa State University in 53 and his M.S. degree from M.W. Missouri University in 69. He spent 17 years of his career as a classroom teacher and 16 as an elementary school principal. In addition to his work with children, he also taught adult education classes.
Lowell has been involved in numerous volunteer and civic activities over the years. He is an active volunteer with his church both with the youth group and other general activities, he is a hospital volunteer with Jennie Edmundson Hospital and was the Allen Township Clerk for 18 years.
WHAT INSPIRES YOUR INVOLVEMENT WITH SOUTHWEST 8? The main reason was that people at Woodbine [Senior] Center thought that I would be a good representative on the Board. Because of my education and experiences I feel that I have something to offer.
